INTRODUCTION:
What if you didn't have our regular art materials to make art like we do in the art room? How would you create art? Since humans first picked up a burnt stick and started to make marks on cave walls, people have been coming up with more and more creative ways to visually express themselves. MATERIALS: - Non traditional materials that can make a mark - dirt, mud, rocks, sticks stones, other plant materials, or maybe something else! - Something to mark on, like a sidewalk. CREATE! - Find a surface to work on like concrete, wood, dirt, or anything. Ask permission if you're not sure it’s ok to make your art on this material. - Find things that make marks on the surface you are using. I chose these materials from outside my house. They are weeds, two different rocks, a piece of old wood, and a pinecone. Some things will work better than others. - Create your art! Like the earliest artists who drew pictures of the animals they hunted for food, choose a subject that is important in your life. I chose trees, as they make me happy and provide shade and clean air, especially as they start to get greener and greener! SHARE: Take a photo and email me! I would love to see your creation!
